Select the package as a validated system
Align the real food, process profile, retort method, barrier target, pouch geometry, filling and sealing controls. A laminate name or temperature alone is not a complete specification.
Check seals before and after retort
Run actual product through representative filling, sealing and retort conditions. Inspect leakage, channels, deformation, delamination, pinholes and opening performance using agreed methods.
