What FAMA means for a packaging project
The official Disney International Labor Standards Manual explains that a FAMA is issued to a Licensee/Vendor and identifies the facility authorized for Disney-branded production under that relationship. It is a project authorization record, not a general quality certificate and not evidence that every product made by the facility is authorized.
For a packaging converter, being named as the facility shows that facility disclosure and authorization steps were completed for the referenced project. The useful buyer signal is documented experience with licensed-brand information flow, facility records and project controls.
Why scope, transferability and date must remain visible
The authorization applied to the named Licensee/Vendor and facility for the referenced licensed-brand project. The document states that it is nontransferable and expires on the earliest applicable event, including one year after issuance.
A buyer should read the Licensee/Vendor name, facility identity, issuance date and expiry language together. A previous authorization cannot be reused by another buyer merely because the same factory is involved. Before any new licensed-brand production, the responsible Licensee/Vendor must follow the brand’s current authorization process.
FAMA is not the same as an audit report or product compliance evidence
FAMA, a social-compliance audit, ISO 22000, a food-contact declaration and a material test report answer different questions. If a buyer asks for SMETA 2-Pillar or another audit, request the actual audit report or platform evidence rather than inferring it from FAMA. Product materials, artwork rights, food-contact scope and finished-package performance also require their own documents and approval.
A controlled handoff for new licensed-brand packaging
Huasheng can support facility information, document coordination and production-readiness review for licensed-brand packaging. Every new project still requires its own brand, Licensee/Vendor, facility and product-scope confirmation before production.
The buyer or Licensee/Vendor should identify the brand program and authorized products, then confirm the manufacturing facility, required audit route and current authorization before bulk production. Huasheng can provide facility information, process documents, sample and artwork coordination, and approved-specification control. Brand approval, intellectual-property permission and final authorization remain with the responsible parties.
Information to prepare before project review
Provide the brand or licensing program, Licensee/Vendor entity, product category, target market, required facility disclosure, audit or authorization instructions, artwork approval route, packaging format, material structure, quantity by design, sample requirements and target production window. Do not send character artwork or licensed assets until the sharing and approval route is confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is FAMA a factory certification?
No. It is a project authorization document issued within a defined Licensee/Vendor and facility relationship, not a general factory quality certificate.
Can another buyer use an existing FAMA?
No. The document states that it is nontransferable. A new Licensee/Vendor must complete the applicable authorization process for its own project.
Does FAMA prove a SMETA 2-Pillar audit?
No. SMETA audit evidence is separate and should be verified from the actual report or authorized platform record.
What should be confirmed before production?
Confirm the responsible Licensee/Vendor, named facility, current authorization, product scope, artwork rights, packaging specification and required audit evidence.
What does Huasheng’s historical document demonstrate?
It demonstrates named-facility experience with a project-specific authorization process. It does not represent a current or transferable authorization for new projects.
Can licensed artwork be printed before approval?
No. Artwork ownership, brand approval and the applicable facility authorization should be confirmed before production.
