Food packaging	Product state, fat or aroma sensitivity, shelf life and storage.	Pouch or roll film, barrier direction, sealant and representative product tests.
Snack packaging	Crispness, oil content, nitrogen flushing, shelf display and line speed.	Moisture and oxygen needs, COF, eye mark, seal window and filled-pack trials.
Liquid food packaging	Viscosity, filling temperature, acidity, spout use and treatment process.	Formula compatibility, fitment weld, seals, drop or leak checks and storage.
Daily chemical refills	Formula, surfactants, fragrance, concentration, volume and dispensing.	Compatibility with the real formula, spout or cap fit, seal strength and filled-pouch stability.

Citation-ready flexible packaging definitions

These definitions describe procurement concepts, not guaranteed values. Test reports should state the specimen, method and conditions.

OTR: Oxygen transmission rate. Compare results only when specimen, temperature, humidity and method are stated.
WVTR: Water-vapor transmission rate. Lower results can indicate stronger moisture barrier under the stated test conditions.
VMPET: PET film with a thin metallized layer. It is metallized PET, not aluminum foil.
AL foil: A real aluminum-foil layer used in selected laminates; finished-pack barrier also depends on flexing, seals and converting.
PET: A common printable outer film that can support stiffness and dimensional stability; it is usually not the heat-sealing layer.
PE / LLDPE: Common inner sealant directions. Grade, thickness and seal behavior should match the product and packing process.
COF: Coefficient of friction. It affects web handling and should be reviewed with the actual packing machine and film surfaces.
Seal strength: The force required to separate a seal under a stated method. It does not alone prove leak resistance or shelf life.

How to use this reference

Use the tables to prepare a specification, then validate the complete package with the intended product, filling process, equipment and storage conditions. A material name or isolated film result should not be treated as proof of finished-package performance.
